MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND AT CHURCH....Today was sorta nice in that a non-cooking menu was used given it is race day and most folks go home or to friends to hangout and cookout and listen to the race on the radio since we are tv blackouted from the Indy 500 race. One lady, however, did bring in a spaghetti salad and another person leftover strawberry sponge cake which was really good and some brownies. The rest of the menu was more grab n go aka do it yourself brown bag complete with brown bags.

The sermon was good-- it was about BE THE HERO OF YOUR OWN STORY-- and interwove some of the Joseph Campbell work on hero and worship and myths and cultural stories. Some use the work of Joseph Campbell to explain the Jedi Knights in the Star Wars series about how persons can intercess the god within. And some say it how Oral Roberts, known televangelist would say this verse a lot---'greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world.'
